A wide range in temperatures for WA

Cool southwesterly winds and clear skies kept temperatures over southern WA below average, while warm northeasterly winds kept the north above average. Perth got down to a chilly 3 degrees overnight, 5 degrees below its average. In the Lower West, Pearce was 6 degrees below the average at only 3 degrees. To the north the overnight lows in the Kimberley were well above average with Warmun only reaching 23, 10 above the normal. Wyndham reached 21 degrees, still 4 above the July norm.

Moderate east to southeast winds brought a warm day to the north while the south remained around average. The Kimberley followed their warm morning with near record heat in many places for July. Kuri Bay broke a 39 year record for the warmest day in July, reaching 37 degrees. Other locations reached up to 5 degrees above average.

Friday morning temperatures in the south will be near or below average in many places and above average to the north again. For tomorrow, mainly sunny skies in the south will allow temperatures to reach around average while the north will be above normal with strong easterly winds.
