A deluge of rain drowns Victoria

Victoria has experienced unseasonal wet weather over the weekend with much of the state receiving heavy rain.

A combination of a cold front pushing across the state, a surface trough and an upper trough have fed moisture deep through the atmosphere leading to the recent rainfall.

Trentham had the highest rainfall in the state with 103mm. This was their biggest rainfall in 103 years of records for November and its wettest day for nine years.

Other locations around the state to break November daily rainfall records where: Warracknabel with 38.2mm, Cranbourne with 39.2mm and Cerberus receiving 39.8mm. Each of these locations also received more then there average November rainfall in one day.

A ridge of high pressure is expected to span across the state by Monday bringing an end to this unseasonal wet weather.
